Ayesha's June Essentials
Travel Calendar // Travel is a big part of what makes me feel alive, vibrant, and inspired. It has become a big part of my existence which is why I finally decided to actively write down the travel that is coming. The places I want to go. The times when you can get the best deals. I created alerts. I'm making it a real part of my life from here on out. Not just waiting around for it to happen but actively calling it in.
Morning Detox Drink // I have been drinking hot lemon water for years, but recently feel in love with using raw turmeric so this recipe is perfect and it really gets things going in the morning. (If you know what I mean)
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric
- A bit of ginger
- The Juice of half a lemon
- Half a cup of water
"This juice not only flushes toxins from your liver, but it also prevents gallstones and cleans your bowels. It also settles down your stomach after a big meal. Turmeric is a very effective liver-detoxifying agent and is used as a hangover remedy in some countries. Again, combining it with lemon juice makes it even more effective. Unfortunately, this drink doesn’t taste that well. You can definitely improve it’s taste by adding a banana, but don’t add too much, as the sugar from the banana will slow down the cleansing action of the turmeric."
Raw Food // In the summer raw food is what my body craves. So many of my meals have been raw, or steamed. All kinds of fresh fruit, veggies from various friends gardens, and meals made from this Pinterest board. I'm excited to try a few desserts next!
Andra Day // My new musical crush is Andra Day. Her voice is soulful and is on par with some jazz legends of the past. She has some amazing covers and her new single RISE UP, is my new power girl anthem. Check her out!
Radical Honesy // Wikipedia says, "Radical honesty asserts that not lying, and speaking bluntly and directly, even about painful or taboo subjects, will make people happier by creating intimacy not possible while hiding things." I would say this is true. I would say that even more in my experience this is what my soul demands of me now. It's been a little painful at times to give and receive this type of honesty, but the ways in which my life has improved because of it are already visible!
DeCluttering // I have been to many estate sales and have seen what can be accumulated over a lifetime. I have made the decision to let go of a lot of stuff that was really just memories. The kind of life that is calling me right now needs less. Less stuff. Less fuss and more going, and doing, and being. So I'm on the decluttering bandwagon. Anyone have any tips to share? I would so appreciate them all.
